Authors write texts because they would either want to entertain, inform or persuade a reader for example the conspiracy 365 series is to entertain, an atlas would be to inform and advertisements on the TV would be to persuade. We like books that are to entertain more because they can be funny and/or scary. We had lots of fun doing this lesson.

  4. Dear Miss Scarrott,
The three reasons why authors write texts are to persuade, entertain and to inform.
If you are writing to persuade someone, you would write advertisements. If you’re writing to entertain you could write a narrative, comic or comedy written in fiction. If you are trying inform your audience you could write a report or history.
Our favourite texts are mostly written to entertain because they usually have happy endings which don’t make us feel bad.

  5. Dear Miss Scarrott,
Authors write to entertain, to inform and to persuade. When an author is informing us they are giving us facts about the topic, when an author is entertaining us they get to be super creative and when an author is persuading us they make us want to buy the product they are selling. We mostly enjoy reading entertaining text because we like the way the author uses their imagination.

We both like reading Entertaining/Narrative books because real stories are a bit boring and narratives are more entertaining and fun to read. Also some narrative texts have funny pictures to make it more enjoyable and make us want to read more and more.

  10. Dear Miss Scarrott,
Authors write texts to pull the reader in, and buy their book so they can get some money out of it.
So they can have the resources to make more books of the same sort, they make books to entertain, inform and persuade people to buy their book. My favourite topic is to entertain because I like stories made up and it’s intriguing to read with all the action stuff happening

Authors write to entertain because when people are bored they can read something to entertain them. Authors also write to persuade people to buy something from them or follow them. They can also write to inform people how to do something and to warn them about stuff like what’s going on.
We like to read books that inform us.
