We are year 6 students at Werribee P.S. Our name is 6S and we welcome you to our class blog. We are looking forward to sharing our learning with you. Please feel free to comment, we’d love to hear your feedback or questions. 🙂
Today we wrote a letter to Duncan as one of the crayons from ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’. We used Vincent Van Gogh’s painting ‘Starry Night’ as inspiration for our letters to Duncan.
To help us improve our writing we had buddy conferences. The buzz in the room was fantastic and I was very impressed with the cooperation in the room, well done 6K!

Did your buddy help you to improve your writing?
How did they help?
Do you have any tips for writing buddies when conferencing?
Congratulations year 6’s!
I wish you all the best for the next chapter in your lives.
Good luck in 2015 and keep in touch 🙂

This year we are doing Kris Kringle in a different way. Each person – including Me 🙂 will select a name at the start of the week (new names next week) and have to do at least 1 random act of kindness for that person every day.
What are some things that we could do as Kris Kringle?
* Remember the aim is to ‘get away with it’ so they can’t guess who you are on Monday 🙂
Find given cities on the Google Map and be as accurate as possible since precision will result in points in the end. But be careful, each level is more difficult and the tolerance in deviation decreases. And you need to hurry: There’s a time limit of about 10 seconds!
The atmosphere in the room when playing this game was fantastic! 🙂
What do you think of this game and what was your closest guess? (Name of city and distance)
What was the highest level you reached?
What did you learn playing this game?
Today we visited the Youth Centre and it was fun and a great experience. It’s a great place for teenagers and young adults to go if they need help or just to hang out.
We had a chance to meet the staff and hear and see what they do for people.
